Description

Tech Girl is a Valtech initiative aimed at sparking girls’ interest in technology and increasing their confidence in coding. To elevate the visibility and impact of this program, I led the rebranding of the ‘Tech Girl’ sub-brand as part of Valtech’s Global Design Team. The new identity needed to be modern, empowering, and relevant to a diverse youth audience across global markets.

Problem

The original Tech Girl branding felt outdated and failed to resonate with its target audience, young girls and teens with emerging curiosity in tech. It lacked visual cohesion and modern appeal, relying too heavily on stereotypical gender cues that undermined its empowering mission

Objective

Redesign the Tech Girl sub-brand to reflect a bold, fresh identity that speaks to youth empowerment, creativity, and inclusivity in the tech space, while maintaining alignment with Valtech’s global brand standards.

Design strategy

The visual identity strikes a deliberate balance between playful and tech-savvy. I designed illustrations that resonate with both kids and teens, consciously steering away from clichés. Instead of using traditionally "girly" visuals, I focused on dynamic, tech-forward elements that highlight empowerment, innovation, and inclusion.



Impact highlights

  • Successfully refreshed Tech Girl’s brand identity across Valtech’s global network.
  • Received strong positive feedback from internal teams and executives for visual clarity and cultural sensitivity.
  • Increased stakeholder buy-in and excitement for broader program expansion.
  • Assets have since been used in workshops, marketing collateral, and international event activations.

Équipe & méthodologie

I was the UX/UI Designer on the Global Design Team, reporting to the Creative Director. I used Figma and Adobe Illustrator to develop a sub-brand board, design logo variations, illustrations, and sticker sets, and ensure visual consistency across all assets.
